Who is Adrian Key?

I was made redundant from my job in 2003. That was the start of a whole new life for me.

At first, like a lot of people in a similar situation, I spent a lot of time wondering what to do next. After much trial and error and a few false starts, Key Searches was born.

At that time I didn’t know much. I started by offering every online marketing service I could think off. Search Engine Optimisation, Pay-per-Click Campaign Management, Writing & Distributing Articles and Newsletters, Link Building ….

I learnt every technique on the fly, by the seat-of-my-pants and I admit, did none of them particularly well. Like many that start to work for themselves for the first time, I was working all the hours and getting nowhere. It had to stop!

In 2006, I read  “The Definitive Guide To Google AdWords” by Perry Marshall. This book inspired me. I new that I could do this AdWords thing and do it well. Key Searches was re-born. This. time as AdWords specialists.

I worked my way through the Google AdWords official training program and read every scrap of information that I could find on AdWords.

What shocked me most was the problems that small business owners had with running their own accounts.

I wondered why they bothered running an account themselves and didn’t just pay someone else to do the job for them. This is when I realised that most experts in the AdWords niche were only interested in managing the big accounts. The one’s that brought in big fees and big profits.

Were all these other experts missing a trick?

When you realise that it takes nearly as much effort to run a huge money spinning AdWords account as it does to run a small one, you start to understand why nearly every expert focuses only on the big money accounts.

I was certain there was a solution to the AdWords Management issue that could work for almost every business!

And after a year of hard work, I’ve finally found it …

F1, Football, Rock and Roll

Formula 1 motor racing is my passion. I’m a dedicated armchair fan, and that’s exactly where you’ll find me, in my armchair, whenever there is a Grand Prix on. I guess like most passionate about motorsport, I’d love to drive a racing car around a track. Maybe one day …

Football and Arsenal is my other armchair passion. But unlike motorsport, my armchair is about as far as this passion goes. I don’t have any ambition to get into my shorts and walk out on a football pitch any day soon.

When I want to relax and there is no motorsport or football, I like to lisen to Rock Music. When I was at school, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd and Eric Clapton were the big rock stars of the time. And, although my taste has opened up to many other influences, these are still firm favourites of mine today.
